C Ceniude has at its foundation occupational Health Medicine, embedded in the maritime sector. Our health unit is highly specialized in this growing sector thus being of extreme national and international relevance. As a specialist and authorized provider of Occupational Health by the General Directorate of Health and Health Regulatory Entity, we are currently the only health unit recognized by PEME UK P & I CLUB, Norwegian Maritime Authority and Bermuda Maritime Authority. We are also duly authorized by the General Directorate of Health to issue Portuguese Maritime Certificates.

We currently have protocols with the largest Shipowners and Cruise Companies and the Merchant Marine Worldwide. Our health unit provides medical examination services to attest seafarers’ physical fitness, since we are duy qualified to support Shipowners in the management of Work Accidents and assist the medical departments of the Companies.

Ceniude has at its disposal a network of partners, which were selected using rigorous selection criteria of quality and certification, that permits us to offer medicals of extreme quality and professional medical answer in several areas, from the complementary means of diagnosis, (X-ray, Ultrasound, CAT Scans, Tuberculosis Screening, etc.), as well as arranging appointments in different clinical specialty clinics

As an example, we have put together a set of partnerships with several Clinical Analysis laboratories, duly certified nationally and internationally, to guarantee the fastest response times without compromising quality, these tests are performed using to the latest up to date equipment. All laboratory procedures follow a strict criteria and tight control in collecting the samples.

Here in Ceniude you will find a multidisciplinary team of doctors specialized in Occupational Health Medicine, nurses, administrative and technical personnel and the management to provide you with all the necessary support in undertaking the medical examinations. We are currently the only Health Unit in Portugal, acknowledged by the prestigious UK Club P & I Club, for advanced medical examinations to attest seafarers’ physical fitness. Norwegian Maritime Authority

We are the only health unit in Portugal duly authorized to practice Occupational Health Medicine and with Doctors certified by the Norwegian Maritime Authority: www.sjofartsdir.no

Bermuda Shipping and Maritime Authority

Since August 2017, after a long certification process, we were again pioneers in obtaining authorisation to undertake Seafarers’ medical examinations for the Bermuda Maritime Administration. Thus, being able to conduct medical crew examinations for Princess Cruise Line, Holland America Line, Seabourn and P & O Australia.


Ceniude is duly authorised by the Directorate-General for Health to issue the latest medical certificate for seafarers, according to paragraphs 1 and 2 of article 8 of Law Decree No. 34/2015, dated March 4.
